Gilles is a petrol fuelled god. He has immortalized racing, passion, determination and utter fearlessness for many F1 fans since he blazed a tragically short trail across the world of F1. His exploits are rightly legendary - my favourite anecdote - the time when he was around 11 seconds per lap quicker than his fellow F1 drivers during a rain drenched practice! Often remembered as wild and aggressive - just watch his incredible battle with Arnoux at Dijon - he had amazing concentration such as at Jarama during 1981 when he kept four faster cars behind him lap after lap through sheer faultless driving. Simply incredible.
